End of Year Recap Part 2 – Bay Area Photographer
And now, the second part to my end of year recap for 2012.
My family went on vacation in July to southern California. We spent time with my spouse’s father in San Clemente. He lives right on a gorgeous beach that is quiet and pretty much undisturbed by the general public. At night, you can leave the windows open to view the moonlight glimmer on the ocean below or sit back and listen to the swooshing sounds of the waves meeting the sand and rocks below. We also got to see California Adventure Park at Disneyland
I teamed up with a few bay area creatives for a collaboration at Albany Bulb. It was great to get together with new people to create art. I met east bay model, Alyssa, and aspiring actress, Physeth, who were two of five people I photographed. I also got to work with another bay area model, AC Carlsbad, in Palo Alto.
I traveled to Arizona to work on a few client sessions that were scheduled. Despite the heat, it was a lot of fun working on new-to-me concepts for family and maternity photography. Back in the bay, my sister-in-law came for a visit and we decided to check out a number of POPOs while she was here.
This year has been full of bay area firsts for our family. We got to experience fleet week in full effect and enjoy the air show near Fisherman’s Wharf. This month was a little crazy for my family because we moved from Menlo Park to Millbrae. Despite the craziness, I managed to squeeze in a trade session with my friend and Clickin Mom photographer, Adel. You can see images that she took of my family on her blog.
The Berkeley High Class of 1967 hired me to photograph their 45th year reunion in Oakland. The planning committee did a wonderful job in planning this event and choosing such a beautiful location. I had a lot of fun and got to meet some great people that night. I feel very thankful that they chose me to help capture their memories that evening.
The holidays are a time of being thankful and for giving. I firmly believe in altruistic acts which is why I participated in this year’s Help Portrait at Glide Memorial Church in downtown San Francisco. Anyway, learn more about this great movement here.
I also got to photograph a wedding in San Jose the last weekend in December. Since I’m still working on processing images, I’m only going to share two “general” images I captured on Brian and Gigi’s big day. I’m really happy that they decided to hire me. I got to know them a little and they’re truly a wonderful couple. I wish them continued happiness.
